Marketing on retainer
for Shopify brands.

We're a small studio that runs the marketing operations side of your Shopify store. Product page rewrites, email and SMS flow copy, AI lifestyle imagery, monthly trend briefs, competitor scans. One batch lands every Friday, summarized in a single email. You approve everything before anything goes live.

No call. No deck. A real audit of your store, emailed in about a minute.

3 Compound

One focused batch every Friday + monthly briefings. You approve, we publish.

Categories we work with. If you make something tangible on Shopify, from your first $50k to eight figures, we're built for you.

What lands in your shopify admin

One focused batch a week.
Briefings through the month.

Big agencies sell you a roadmap and bill you for the meeting that produced it. We ship one focused batch every Friday. One thing to review, one approval, with a recap of what shipped, what moved, and what's queued. Your first weeks are front-loaded to hit the biggest wins fast.

In every Friday batch

Always
01

Product-page rewrites

The week's product pages with the most to gain: new title, body, and four benefit bullets that read like real benefits, not a spec dump. Every word is yours to edit; approved copy is pushed to your Shopify admin shortly after you approve.

Always
02

Email / SMS flow

A flow rewrite. Abandoned cart first, then welcome, post-purchase, win-back as the weeks go. The fastest compounding revenue at your size. We write it; you paste it in (or share a key and we place it). Setup steps included.

On your cadence
03

Imagery + storefront + picks

AI imagery (made from your own photo, product preserved) on the frequency you set, plus product picks and homepage & collection copy (kept stable, not churned weekly). You approve each one.

Monthly

1st of month
04

Numbers + next month

Plain-English readout: what shipped, what actually moved, and what to ship next. No 14-slide deck. Just the real numbers, straight, and the next four weeks queued.

1st of month
05

Product picks

What to push, what to bundle, what to quietly retire, chosen from your real catalogue, not invented. The month's merchandising priorities in plain language.

Mid-month
06

Trend + competitor scan

A directional read on where your category's heading (considered judgment, not scraped stats), plus a quiet teardown of your top three competitors built from their real public catalogue + pricing. Lands mid-month so it isn't piled on the 1st.

Every line below is real work we produce on its cadence. The tag on each says exactly what happens to it, so you know before you pay. The high-impact changes we push to your store ourselves; the rest lands ready for one-click approval. None of it is a slide deck. Lift ranges come from Baymard, Klaviyo, and published Shopify Plus case studies; real outcomes vary by your baseline, category, and audience.

Note on numbers. Lift ranges are pulled from published industry research (Baymard Institute, Klaviyo benchmarks, Shopify Plus case studies) for stores in the $50k–$1M annual revenue band. They're typical, not guaranteed. Your store's baseline matters most. A store already at 4% PDP conversion has less room to lift than one at 1.2%. We'll set expectations honestly during your audit, before you sign up.

The studio

Small on purpose.
Honest about it.

Moss & Tomatoes is a studio of Werner Ventures LLC, operated from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. We're built to run marketing operations for a small number of Shopify brands at a time, never more than we can ship for, weekly, without missing.

We're new. We won't pretend otherwise. What we have is a sharp process, real published research backing every recommendation (Baymard, Klaviyo, Shopify Plus case studies), and a flat $497 price that's low enough you can try us for a month and decide on actual evidence, not a sales pitch.

If you sell real products on Shopify and you'd rather have someone else shipping marketing fixes every week than carry that work yourself, we're built for you. Doing $50k a year or eight figures, the weekly work is the same and the price is the same. Bigger catalogue just means more to sharpen.

What we believe
  • · Shipping beats strategy decks
  • · One small thing every week compounds
  • · You should approve every change before it goes live
  • · The price should be cheap enough to try
What we don't do
  • · Paid ads management (refer out)
  • · Theme development / Liquid customization
  • · Customer support for your shoppers
  • · Strategy meetings + retainer creep

Common questions

The actual questions
we get asked.

What's actually in the $497 every month? +
One focused batch every Friday: product-page rewrites + an email/SMS flow always, plus imagery and homepage/collection copy on a cadence you set in Settings (imagery weekly/biweekly/on-request; storefront monthly/quarterly). One thing to review, one approval, one recap. Monthly is split so it's readable: the 1st brings your numbers readout + product picks; mid-month brings the trend brief + competitor scan. Your first ~8 weeks are front-loaded, highest-traffic product pages and abandoned-cart first, then welcome flow + homepage, so the biggest wins come early. Approved product copy is pushed to your Shopify admin; imagery and email copy are drafts in your portal you paste where you need them. See the sample month for the full picture.
How do approvals work? What if I hate something? +
Everything lands as a draft in your member portal first, never live on your store. You get an email with what shipped and a one-click approval link. Approve all, approve some, or skip entire items. Nothing touches your store without your green light; when you approve product copy we write it straight to that product in your Shopify admin. Imagery and email copy stay as portal drafts you place where you want them. Skip rate is part of how we recalibrate to your taste.
Can I pause? Cancel? Get a refund? +
Pause anytime for up to one month a year, no penalty. Cancel from your Stripe billing portal any time, no email required, no save-attempt pressure. 14-day money back on your first batch if we don't ship on time or the work isn't usable. After that, we'd rather refund and part cleanly than drag out an unhappy retainer.
How do you actually push changes into my store? +
We use the Shopify Admin GraphQL API via our installed app, with scopes limited to products and orders. We read your catalogue and order activity, and when you approve product copy we write it straight to that product. Nothing is written to your store before you approve; until then the draft lives only in your member portal. Imagery and email/flow copy are portal drafts you place yourself, with one optional exception: if you add a Klaviyo API key on your Integrations page, an approved flow is also pushed into Klaviyo as a ready-to-use template (never a live flow, and only after you approve it). For Postscript or any other tool there's no API integration; you paste our copy in with the steps we include. You install the app once via standard Shopify OAuth and can revoke access from your Shopify admin at any time.
What categories do you work with? +
Any Shopify brand that sells tangible goods: coffee + tea, small-batch food, candles + soap, indie apparel, ceramics + homewares, small-batch beauty, stationery, kitchenware, outdoor gear, garden + plants, and so on. We don't work with dropshippers, CBD/cannabis/alcohol (payment processor friction), info products, or stores below $20k a year. If you're not sure where you sit, run the free audit and we'll tell you honestly.
What tools do you integrate with? +
Shopify is the system we connect to (products + orders), via our installed app, and we don't auto-detect what else you run. We write the email and SMS copy and hand it to you as portal drafts. One optional convenience: add a Klaviyo API key on your Integrations page and an approved flow is pushed into Klaviyo for you as a ready-to-use template (never a live flow). For Postscript, Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Recharge or anything else there's no API integration; you paste our copy into whatever you already use, with the steps we include. If your store runs on Shopify, you're set up.
What about the AI imagery, is it really usable? +
For lifestyle context, detail shots, and supplementary gallery imagery, yes: current-generation AI image generation, directed carefully to your brand, produces usable, on-brand work. For your hero shots and primary product photography, we still recommend real photography. We're the lifestyle layer that fills the gaps between your photo shoots, not a replacement for them.
Why no contracts, no calls, no decks? +
Two reasons. One, it's how we keep the price this low: every meeting we don't take is time we can put into shipping. Two, our experience is that the brands that need our help most are the ones too busy running their store to sit through a sales pitch. If you'd rather see the work than hear about it, you're our customer.
